Zume Inc.’s mobile kitchens to be used by fast casual chain &pizza after firms agree partnership

Kitchen technology firm Zume Inc. has entered into a strategic partnership with fast casual chain &pizza that will see its products used by the chain.

&pizza will use Zume’s Forward Mobile Kitchens to expand its brand in new markets and test new products.

The Mobile Kitchens are trucks fitted with kitchen appliances that feature WiFi devices, such that when an order is placed, the cooks can be guided to the destination as they prepare the meal.

Alex Garden, Chairman, and CEO of Zume Inc. said: “We’re giving restaurants a fast, and cost-effective way to expand while focusing exclusively on what they love most – creating amazing food experiences for their customers.

“We’re thrilled to partner with a forward-thinking restaurant chain like &pizza who is an innovator and who shares our belief that food should be a catalyst for a better world.”

Andy Hooper, President, and COO of &pizza, added: “Zume’s Forward Mobile Kitchens give us the flexibility to capitalize on non-tradition allocations and extend the brand experience to more customers.

“The process of creating a technologically integrated experience in our pizza shops has a considerable lead time, so we’re leveraging mobile units to share our product and story before we open a physical space.”

Zume has released a number of innovative products including a robot-powered truck that cooks pizzas en route to customers and compostable food containers.
