West Coast rep agencies pack more punch as single entity

West Coast rep agency PCH Solutions and Southern California rep firm Cuffari Marketing Group have announced a merger of their businesses.

The new entity will be known as EMC ‘A Hospitality Collective.’

EMC stands for ‘educate, motivate and communicate’, and will look to represent some of the finest brands in the non-food hospitality channel.

The EMC executive management and ownership team will consist of Michael Hartman, managing partner Pacific Northwest, Matt Blackman, managing partner Northern California and Chris Cuffari, managing partner Southern California.

Mr Hartman commented: “With the recent strategic alliance with PCH Solutions and Hodak Sales Inc, a premier legacy equipment agency in Southern California, it is exciting to have the pros at Cuffari Marketing representing all combined brands (PCH/Hodak/Cuffari). The strong end-user/operator relationships that Cuffari Marketing brings will be a huge benefit to our factory partners.

“We have shared several tabletop and buffet lines with Cuffari Marketing and have always admired the way they go to market. With our distributor and national account focus and Hodak’s expertise in specifying equipment, our Southern California team will be poised for extreme growth.”

EMC will serve the entire west coast, including California, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, Montana, Idaho, Alaska and Hawaii.

It will offer a range of solutions for smallwares, tabletop, buffet, furniture and foodservice equipment, which customers will be able to view and put to the test at its development kitchens and showrooms in Orange County, downtown Los Angeles and Emeryville.

Mr Blackman said the business is excited about what the future holds: “Through the past few years of struggle and change we have found a place to create opportunity and expansion. With the recent opening of our Northern California test kitchen/showroom, also known as the EMC Lab, the collective talents between all of the markets we serve will take us to the next level.

“During the process of putting this merger together, it became immediately apparent that our respective groups share very similar values and forward-thinking approaches. Chris and his team have done a remarkable job and the combination of PCH, Hodak and Cuffari sets us up for great success and the ability to build something truly special and unique across the west coast.”

Mr Cuffari said the merger positions it for continued growth and the ability to represent some of the premier smallwares, furniture, countertop and heavy equipment offerings in Southern California. 

“Along with the existing tabletop and buffet brands that we currently bring to our customers, we are extremely excited about the synergy of offerings that we will bring to our market. We have a strong, knowledgeable team of 10 outside sales representatives and three inside sales support personnel servicing the Southern California market.

“With our tabletop and buffet showroom in downtown Los Angeles and now with the merger, a full test kitchen and office in Huntington Beach, we will be able to present our customers everything they would need to stay trend forward and increase efficiency in their operation.”
