Michigan foodservice equipment dealer Stafford-Smith has helped actor Mark Wahlberg take his first steps into the UK restaurant market.
The US star’s restaurant chain Wahlburgers – which he founded with brothers Paul and Donnie – is bidding to make a name for itself in London’s casual dining circuit after recently opening its first UK store.
The UK launch comes eight years after the business was founded in North America, where it now operates 26 sites.
Stafford-Smith worked closely with Lloyd Catering Equipment, the UK contractor that Wahlburgers used for the project, during the development of the London Wahlburgers site, the first restaurant for the group outside of the US.
The impressive double-fronted premises in Covent Garden is situated in a prime location directly beneath the Royal Opera House.
Chef Paul Wahlberg developed the menu, drawing inspiration from the food that the family enjoyed growing up. Items on offer include freshly-made original recipe burgers, hot sandwiches, salad bowls and more as well as a range of desserts, adult frappes and ‘floats’.
