Smart Care now employs more than 600 catering technicians nationwide following its recent acquisition of the USA’s largest authorized TurboChef service provider.
The St.Paul, Minnesota outfit snapped up Turbo Technicians, which is based in Addison, Texas, at the end of last year and it has helped take its headcount past the 600 mark for the first time.
It now claims to be the largest independent kitchen equipment service organization not affiliated with an OEM manufacturer.
Smart Care has been proactive in building scale in US kitchen maintenance space, snapping up no fewer than four service companies in the space of the last 18 months.
Turbo Technicians is a leading specialist in the speed oven category and provides TurboChef oven repair and maintenance to several large coffee chains across the country.
It is currently also building service capabilities for coffee equipment to diversify and complement their current capabilities.
“Thanks to the leadership of owners Cody and Julie Newport, Turbo Technicians has been established as the clear leader of the speed oven category,” said Smart Care’s CEO Bill Emory at the time of the deal.
The company now services 40,000 more than locations in all 50 states, including full serve restaurants, QSRs, corporate caterers and government organizations.
