Restaurant Brands International scooped an award at the recent Global Restaurant Leadership Conference in Singapore.
Following the company’s landmark acquisition of Popeye’s, the Canadian brand and operator of Burger King landed an award for growth at this year’s Distinction Awards.
The addition of Popeye’s chicken chain to its portfolio follows the addition of Canadian-mainstay Tim Hortons, all contributing to strong growth for the company.
In addition to the American brand, South Korea-based SPC Group won the award for Best Partner for its work with brands like Jamba and its own proprietary concepts like Paris Baguette and Caffe Pascucci.
The prize for innovation went to Dodo Pizza whose digital-first approach integrates technology into every aspect of its operations helping it to expand to 510 locations across 12 countries.
Finally, the award for community service went to Thailand-based The Minor Food Group who has committed to sustainability and community service with schemes such as its Minor School Project, which aims to teach all children English.
The award winners were chosen by a committee that included a range of industry insiders and media representatives including industry researcher Technomic and representatives from Restaurant Business Magazine and its website.
