Rational USA has invited culinary students at a nearby high school to take part in a workshop at its Culinary Event Center in Rolling Meadows, Illinois.
Those participating in the national ProStart program, which aims to prepare students for a career in the hospitality industry, were invited by the firm to show off their cooking skills while being introduced to combi technology.
Billy Buck, Rational USA’s corporate chef, was supportive of the scheme. He said: “These culinary students are the future of the industry. It’s an honor to introduce them to combi technology and provide them with some practical culinary experience and advice.”
He added: “Seeing the excitement in their eyes rekindles the excitement we all had when entering this industry.”
Rational North America’s vice president, Markus Glueck, echoed Buck’s sentiments. He said: “As company of chefs for chefs, Rational is committed to supporting culinary education and training programs that prepare students for rewarding careers in the foodservice industry.”
He concluded: “Rational employs more than 1000 chefs around the world, and it’s our pleasure to introduce culinary students to our company and possible career pathways.”
