Rational has revealed that its iCombi Classic combi steamers are now Energy Star certified, joining the 11 previously certified iCombi Pro models.
Rational offers 16 Energy Star-certified commercial iCombi ovens that incorporate advanced energy-efficient technologies without compromising on performance.
Energy efficient technologies implemented across the full iCombi product line include LED cooking cabinet and rack lighting, high-performance fresh steam generator with automatic water refill, high-performance blower-burner system (gas models only), dynamic air circulation with reversible high-performance five-speed fan wheels, automatic calibration, and adaptation to the geographic elevation for optimum results in steam mode, and demand-responsive energy supply.
In addition, the iCombi Pro models include a triple-pane glass cooking cabinet door with rear ventilation and special heat-reflective coating.
Simon Lohse, executive vice president of North America, said: “Rational is honored to receive the Energy Star certification for the iCombi Classic. This recognition from the EPA truly reflects our commitment to social and environmental responsibility.”
The certification of the iCombi Classic combi steamer underlines the innovative claim of the entire Rational product range and the company’s commitment to ensuring that as many models as possible make a significant contribution to greater sustainability.
Jim Lund, director of product design and consultant resources, said: “In terms of environmental protection and the rising energy costs, we are often asked about the energy balance of Rational cooking systems. Outdated technology and foodservice equipment operating at a below-average energy balance is widespread in commercial kitchens, and urgently requires investment to align with a more environmentally conscious operation.”
