Pitco’s ‘fryapalooza’ contest invites kitchens to get creative with their fryers

Pitco is inviting customers to fry their way to a $1,000 cash prize as part of a ‘fryapalooza’ competition it has launched.

With a lot of state fairs being cancelled this year, the company said it is missing its fried favourites, from funnel cakes and fried dough to the crazy conceptions of fried butter and fried alcohol.

It has therefore conceived a contest that gives cooks and chefs from across the US the chance to win $1,000 using whatever ingredients they wish.

To enter the competition, operators simply need to film a video of how they make their recipe and fry it, and submit it to www.pitco.com/fryapalooza.

They also need to post their video on social media by tagging Pitco and using the hashtag #fryapalooza.

Five weekly winners selected by Pitco will each receive $100 (one per week). The weekly and grand prize video will be judged on creativity, video content and food presentation.

There will also be a People’s Choice award worth $150 for the submission with the most social reactions across all platforms.

One grand prize blue ribbon winner will be selected by Pitco to receive $1,000.

The competition lasts from August 1 through to 7 September.
