Parts Town has unveiled a new-and-improved version of Techtown, its online forum for technicians.
The spare parts distributor said the website, which was originally launched in 2015, was now “more than just a technician forum.”
The revamped website allows techs to ask questions, share expert opinions or chat with local technicians in their area.
It also includes a wide variety of helpful content for techs, such as news and a full manufacturer directory in addition to a blog filled with in-depth business tips and repair help.
The discussions are now broken into different topics to help techs get to the right area faster than before, while the site is now mobile-friendly, making it easy for techs to ask questions on any device they have.
Parts Town said that members can earn rewards by offering advice, asking a question or sharing a nugget of knowledge, with more participation leading to more rewards.
The points can then be used by technicians to purchase tools, battery packs and jobsite gear.
In another improvement, techs can now choose to share photos and videos in the forum or create their own private, custom groups.
New features will be frequently be added to the site, with technicians able to drive changes by providing feedback.
