Nieco promotes engineer who helped Burger King solve equipment challenge


Broiler manufacturer Nieco has promoted Michael Janney to director of operations.

In this role, Mr Janney will direct the day-to-day operations of the engineering, planning, procurement and production departments.

Through over seven years of dedicated service in progressively challenging roles at Nieco, Mr Janney has distinguished himself as an innovative and talented engineer, a leader of new engineering talent, and developed significant expertise in driving efficiency in all aspects of the Nieco business.

He will continue to report directly to company president Jaime Nau and work closely with Matt Baker, vice president of research and development.

Mr Janney will oversee and direct the day-to-day engineering design and innovation of domestic and international kitchen equipment, collaborating with Nieco sales teams and strategic partners to develop innovative products.

He joined Nieco in May 2014 as a design engineer, after a successful internship with the company. A year later he was awarded the coveted BK Equipment Innovation Partner of the Year award for his work developing solutions benefiting Burger King restaurants.

He was promoted to manager of engineering in 2017, director of engineering in 2019, and has worked to expand efficiency initiatives and develop new engineering talent.
