New renewable bamboo alternative to plastic and Styrofoam takeout packaging

Novolex brand Eco-Products has updated its Regalia line of environmentally friendly, renewable foodservice ware and takeout packaging, using a new combination of sugar cane, bamboo and other materials.

The half pans and lids are for use by restaurants and takeout establishments.

Eco-Products claims that the material, named PLA, results in a strong, cut-proof, grease-proof container that is resistant to leaks – a common problem with eco-friendly alternatives in the market.

Other features include the products being safe to use with hot or cold food. They are also microwave-safe and freezer-safe.

The renewable takeout packaging pans come in three sizes, with a one-size-fits-all lid that works with each size.

Eco-Products offers a range of cups, bowls, plates, utensils and more made from renewable and post-consumer recycled resources.

“At Eco-Products, we are always searching for innovative solutions for our customers seeking environmentally preferable options,” said Sarah Martinez, senior director of marketing for Eco-Products. “These new soak-proof half pans make catering easier and simpler for caterers and guests alike.

“Everything from leftover food scraps to the half pans themselves can go into the same compost bin. Customers without access to composting will still enjoy the convenience and environmental benefits of single-use pans made with renewable resources.”
