NAFEM presents 2019 Carpenter’s Award to “industry veteran”


The National Association of Food Equipment Manufacturers (NAFEM) has given its “highest honor” award to Lawrence Moon, CFSP, charmain and CEO at The Sandstone Group and Lakeside Manufacturing.

The West Milwaukee based foodservice professional was presented with the William Carpenter’s Award during The NAFEM Show on February 6.

NAFEM said: “Carpenter Award is the association’s highest honor, given to a foodservice industry professional who has continually contributed to NAFEM’s success and to the enrichment of the industry for more than 20 years.”

Moon has spent more than 25 years in the industry and has held a wide variety of roles with NAFEM, including committee member, committee chair and board member.

He has also served two terms on the board of directors, was a member of the finance and audit committee and served as chair of The NAFEM Show in 2005.

NAFEM said that Moon was instrumental in assisting the association with technology-related projects, including bar coding, programming, database development and IT strategies.
