The Middleby Corporation has appointed industry veteran Dave Hinton as group vice president of Star Holdings International Companies, which includes the brands Star, Lang, Wells, Toastmaster and Holman.
In his new position, Hinton will be responsible for leading the global strategy, growing sales and marketing initiatives for each of the brands in the group.
Most recently, Hinton was vice president BU Chains at Electrolux Professional where he was responsible for the company’s growth and expansion strategy in the QSR and Retail segments. Prior to that, he spent five years with Manitowoc Foodservice, now known as Welbilt.
John Perruccio, group president, said: “The Star Holdings Group is a well-known portfolio of brands and the addition of Dave to lead this group is a tremendous asset in working with our strategic partner dealers, reps and end users. Dave will build upon and enhance the current strategy, direction and vision for the Star brands.
Notably, Hinton also brings a professional background as a founder and former principal of a vertically integrated group of companies specializing in the multi-unit restaurant, hotel and retail segments.
Hinton said: “I am sincerely excited to join Middleby and to lead the Star Holdings Group to new levels of success. Each of the brands in the group is well-known and respected throughout the foodservice industry, offering a wide variety of products that are used in all segments of commercial foodservice.
“I appreciate the opportunity to lead this effort and to join an accomplished management team already in place. From what I see in the market today, I am convinced there is tremendous growth potential for the Star Holdings Group as we develop and deploy our future strategy.”
