Marco Beverage Systems is vowing to deliver the ultimate full-service beverage experience after entering the cold and sparkling water market for the first time in its 30-year history.
The company, which has its US office in Seattle, is an experienced and well-known brand in the hot water and coffee brewing systems market, but has now leapt into the cold side with the launch of FRIIA, an undercounter system that incorporates a water chiller and a water boiler.
“FRIIA is a very significant and exciting step for us,” explained Gemma Kiernan, marketing manager at the company’s HQ.
“It allows us to give more value to our customers through a stylish, full-service beverage experience. For over 30 years we have been developing knowledge, skills and network through our hot water systems, and this experience actually places us in an excellent position to pursue opportunities in the fast-changing cold water market.”
The undercounter chiller incorporates aluminium block technology to chill incoming water by an average of 10˚C and the boiler contains a vacuum insulated tank to ensure temperature accuracy and energy efficiency.
“This is our first step into the cold water market so we wanted to ensure that we were leveraging our established, award-winning technology,” she added.
“FRIIA utilises a MIX boiler for hot water dispense. It has a vacuum insulated tank to reduce energy consumption and minimise heat loss and is up to 70% more energy-efficient than leading water boiler competitors.”
The company was inspired to create the system after research uncovered demand for three things: fresh, healthier beverage choice, particularly in the office space; an increased consideration for design, space and workflow; and the shift away from single-use plastics and bulky POU water coolers.
Mrs Kiernan said the system would be ideal for offices, canteens, showrooms, gyms and small cafes. It has an hourly capacity of around 250 cold and cold sparkling cups and 160 hot cups.
Asked what the single biggest benefit of the FRIIA system was, she said: “Its ease. It is easy to install, easy to service, easy to use and eliminates the need for separate water boilers and water coolers. Most importantly, with a sleek countertop footprint FRIIA makes it easy to deliver and serve healthy, fresh beverage choice.”
In keeping with Marco’s established position as a leader in design, the FRIIA font has a sleek, brushed metal finish and premium LED feature.
FRIIA is the latest development for Marco since the launch of the much-acclaimed MIX range two years ago.
It has won praise for being able to deliver hot water at three exact temperatures from a single font, particularly useful for operators that require temperature accuracy for premium tea brewing.
