K&D Factory Service has announced that it has acquired Maine-based firm Pine Tree Food Equipment.
The deal coincides with Pine Tree’s founder Gary Potvin retiring from the company, with current K&D president Dan Dibeler now set to also become president at Pine Tree.
Pine Tree will retain its branding, operating as a wholly owned subsidiary of K&D, with vice president and COO Dan Poulin remaining in charge of day-to-day operations.
Announcing the decision to sell the company, Potvin claimed that he did so in order to ensure its legacy would remain, adding that he believed that under K&D the company would not lose its family-owned atmosphere and culture.
He said: “It’s still a family-owned company, it’s just now owned by a different family.”
Pine Tree provides commercial cooking equipment parts and service to the entire state of Maine and bordering New Hampshire towns and was founded by Potvin in 1989.
It describes its mission as: “to provide fast, dependable service and quality parts at a level that exceeds customer expectations.”
