The Italian government has deemed Unox and its ancillary production factories as vital for national production, allowing the combi oven maker to maintain its factory operations throughout the coronavirus pandemic.
Earlier this week, Italian officials ordered all but the most essential businesses to close until 3 April, but with Unox exempt from this mandate its production line will continue to run and its offices will remain active.
As the company manufactures 96% of its own components, current and future stocks of parts are sufficient and it presently sees no problems moving forward.
Although the Italian factory is operational, it has put measures in place over the past few weeks to ensure the safety of employees and help restrict the spread of the virus.
Production is running from 6am to 2pm daily and is then closed to allow sanitation of the entire production area in preparation for the next day. This applies to all of the production factories.
Its despatch department, meanwhile, is running in small teams and working split shifts to prevent the spread of the virus and to enable orders to be fulfilled and normal shipments to be made.
