Ever wondered how America’s biggest foodservice equipment brands are performing across the Pond?
Well, Catering Insight USA’s sister publication, Foodservice Equipment Journal, has shed some light on the situation by releasing its annual ‘State of the Nation’ report.
It features a rundown of the 10 largest catering equipment manufacturers operating in the UK – with some prominent North American names earning their place on the list.
The likes of ITW, Middleby Corporation, Welbilt all contribute a significant chunk of the $826m turnover that the top 10 largest suppliers made in the UK for the last year in which financial accounts are publicly available.
All companies operating in the UK are required to submit their accounts to Companies House, making it possible to attain a comprehensive picture of financial performance.
While North American influence is strong on the list, the presence of major European brands is also notable. Italian conglomerate Ali Group features prominently, as do Germany’s trio of warewashing equipment giants.
The UK’s impending exit from the European Union is referenced in every financial report filed by the largest players over the past 12 months, with many confirming plans to ramp up stockholding to cope with anticipated disruption at the borders when the split does officially happen.
