The Host trade show in Milan is further building on its success, this year already topping the 2015 exhibitor total, 5 months before the event is due to begin.

A total of 1,824 companies representing 55 different countries have confirmed a stand at Fieramilano from Friday 20 to Tuesday 24 October. This represents an increase of 11.4% compared to the 2015 edition.

Eight new countries will be represented this year, comprising Belarus, Egypt, Lichtenstein, New Zealand, Serbia, South Africa, Sri Lanka and the Ukraine. Excluding host country Italy, Europe will boast the largest number of companies (73.5%), with Germany, Spain and France topping the list, followed closely by the USA, the UK, Switzerland, Greece, the Netherlands, Portugal and Austria.

In terms of product categories the foodservice equipment and bread pizza pasta macro-sector equates to 45.7% and is also the most heavily represented with 729 participants. The other two macro-sectors are: coffee tea – bar coffee and vending machines – gelato – pastry (36.5%) and furniture and tableware (17.8%).

Thanks to closer collaboration with the ITA (Italian Trade Agency), there will be over 1,500 hosted buyers arriving from Europe (10%), the Mediterranean and South Africa (7%), the Middle East (15%) Northern America (23%), Central and Southern America (8%) Russia (18%), Asia and Oceania (19%).

The 40th edition of HostMilano will also house professional meetings and many events, including workshops, training opportunities, round tables and show-cooking demonstrations. Visitors will be able to freely attend the hundreds of events to get the lowdown on today’s ‘hot’ topics.

The show has also teamed up with a number of global trade associations, the latest being the UK’s own CEDA. American counterpart Feda (Foodservice Equipment Distributors Association) is also backing the exhibition, plus another partner, Spain’s AFEHC (Asociación de Fabricantes Españoles Exportadores de Equipamientos para Hostelería y Colectividades), also operates in the same sector. The FCSI has also returned to back Host again too.
