Hoshizaki America has announced that manufacturing of seven of its undercounter self-contained icemakers models will be transferred to its Peachtree City facility in Georgia.
The models, (KM-301BAJ, KM-301BWJ, KM-231BAJ, KM-161BAJ, KM-161BWJ, KM-116BAJ, KM-81BAJ), were all previously manufactured in China and produce individual crescent shape ice cubes.
The only change to the models is that their names have changed, with the numbers increasing by one digit to identify the shift to US manufacturing.
It is the second time in recent weeks that the company has moved production of its products to the US, with the news coming soon after the announcement that it would move the production of two of its square ice cube machines from Europe to Peachtree City.
Brad Powell, vice president of manufacturing at Hoshizaki America, said: “Our recent expansion and improvements in production flexibility have given us the opportunity to manufacturer the small KM icemakers models right here in Peachtree City.
“We started manufacturing the KM-301BAJ on May 20th of this year and will complete the lineup this month.”
