Hobart cuts down chopping time with new portion scale slicers

Hobart has released its new HS Series of portion scale slicers, which it claims increase efficiency and accuracy by slicing and weighing the food on the same machine.

The series includes the HS6-1PS manual slicer and the automatic HS7-1PS.

It claims the products offer precise, fast slicing and instant weighing for foodservice establishments.

The new products eliminate the need for two pieces of equipment – a separate slicer and scale – saving time and cost.

The models can weigh products up to 10 pounds at an accuracy of up to 0.01 pounds, and if a preset weight is specified the machine will stop chopping once the weight is reached.

They have touch-screen interfaces and alert users to imminent maintenance requirements like blade sharpening cleaning, sanitizing and lubricating slicer components

Hobart also says that the stainless-steel blade’s cobalt alloy edge last up to three times longer than carbon-steel equivalents.
