Simon Lohse EVP RATIONAL NA

Rational is adamant that he has got the right man to drive its growth in North America after Simon Lohse began his first full month in charge of the business.

As revealed by Catering Insight USA last month, the manufacturer has handed responsibility for one of its most promising regions to the former managing director of its UK operation.

Lohse has been named executive vice president of area North America and president USA. He will oversee strategic positioning and business operations for the United States, Canada and Mexico.

Markus Paschmann, chief sales and marketing officer, and Rational executive board member, said: “During his time at Rational UK, Simon’s many contributions improved our business. He brings broad and highly applicable industry experience to leverage across this important area.

“We are confident that adding Simon to the North American leadership team will result in continued growth and a superior customer experience.”

Lohse joined Rational in 2016 as managing director of the UK subsidiary, responsible for business operations and customer success across Great Britain and Ireland.

Prior to that, he held various positions of responsibility at ITW, including managing director of Hobart’s service division in the UK.

He said: “I’m excited and honored to accept this new challenge, and I look forward to contributing to the growth and success of this region by working closely with our colleagues, customers and partners across North America.

Rune Are, chief financial officer for Rational North America, has assumed managerial responsibilities on an interim basis since December 2020.
