The world’s first fresh food robot, created by Chowbotics, is set to serve up fresh, customizable meals and snacks to attendees at the 2019 National Restaurant Association (NRA) Show for the third year in a row.
As one of 25 recipients of the NRA’s Kitchen Innovation (KI) Awards, Chowbotics, the creator of ‘Sally’, was recognized for its proficiency addressing foodservice operator concerns including labor, cleanliness, food safety, sanitation, cross-functionality, and space-saving measures.
Sally delivers precise portions and serves up vibrant, forward-thinking meals and snacks in places where fresh, made-to-order food might not otherwise exist.
The robot offers thousands of custom meal options from any combination of up to 22 ingredients, in addition to chef-crafted, pre-programmed salads, grain bowls, and breakfast bowls.
Users can fine-tune the calorie total by adding or subtracting ingredients, as well as view full nutritional details for each selection.
Sally’s proprietary technology also reduces the risk of foodborne illness and cross-contamination, as ingredients are separated by canisters, replenished on a regular basis, and contained within the robot.
At the NRA Show, Sally will be showcased with all KI Award honorees in the interactive Kitchen Innovations Showroom, booth 2440C in the North Hall.
