The Franke Group has agreed a deal to acquire a majority stake in Italian firm Dalla Corte, launching a strategic partnership between the two coffee machine manufacturers.
The companies will continue to operate independently, with Dalla Corte retaining its leadership team and managing its business from the company’s head office in Italy.
Dalla Corte, based in Milan, produces traditional portafilter espresso machines in the premium segment for private and professional use and was founded in 2001.
Its multi-boiler technology, which was developed and patented the year of the company’s launch, is seen as a benchmark for the entire semi-automatic espresso machine sector.
Patrik Wohlhauser, CEO of the Franke Group, said: “As a manufacturer of traditional espresso machines, Dalla Corte focuses on the essentials: The consistently perfect espresso taste which, thanks to innovative technology, meets the highest quality standards.
“In Dalla Corte, we have found a partner that shares the same values as Franke in terms of quality, technology and innovation.
“I am convinced that this combination will be positive for both sides.”
Paolo Dalla Corte, founder and CEO of Dalla Corte, added: “We are proud of the merger with Franke and convinced of the possibility of great growth potential to further strengthen our international business.
With Franke at our side, we can face future market challenges more effectively and expand our status as a technological leader in the semi-automatic coffee machine sector.”
Franke is headquartered in Aarburg, Switzerland, with its North American operations based in Smyrna, Tennessee.
