Ice storage company Follett has expanded its Lehigh Valley home by 90,000 square feet in a $12m move.

The addition will bring the company’s Forks Township, PA, office space and manufacturing facilities under one roof, giving it a total space of 250,000 square feet. The expansion is forecast to be finished in 2021.

Follett, founded in 1948 and acquired by the Middleby Corporation in 2016, has had a home in the Lehigh Valley area since 1957.

In 1967 it moved from its Phillipsburg, NJ, premises to its current property in Forks Township. It also leases a further facility to meet high demand for its products.

Follett manufactures ice machines, ice storage and transport equipment, ice and beverage and ice and water dispensing equipment for global workplace, foodservice and healthcare markets.

Follett president and Middleby group president Korey Kohl commented: “This investment also demonstrates Follett’s and Middleby’s commitment to be a vibrant and growing employer in the Lehigh Valley.

“In addition to providing space for continued growth of the company, this expansion will allow all manufacturing and support operations to be consolidated into one location to improve efficiency and, most importantly, better serve our customers.”
