Canada Brown looks to extend supply of sustainable consumables to US market

Canada Brown is looking to press the flesh with foodservice brands and distributors interested in increasing the use of sustainable catering consumables at this week’s Restaurant Show.

More than 500 million paper straws are used every day by North Americans who demand more than convenience from their product choices and are getting increasingly aware of eco friendly alternatives.

There is a strong desire by states to ban plastic straws but a lack of reliable and cost-effective alternatives states is slowing that process down.

Canada Brown paper straws are made of eco friendly superior quality paper – a natural fibre which is considered to be biodegradable and compostable in the right compost setting.

The company offers more than one thousand variants and colour options, and can even supply custom paper straws for small order quantities like 5,000 pieces.

“We are confident that our paper straws are durable and superior in performance as compared to the current market offering,” said Nakul Mehra, director of sales and marketing at the company. “Canada Brown paper straws last up to 10 hours and do not interfere with the beverage’s flavour, whether hot or cold beverages”.

Since July last year the company has produced more than three million straws per day and works with a 20 strong partner network in 12 markets.
