Cambro Manufacturing is celebrating the 20 year anniversary of one of its landmark projects.
Camshelving was first introduced to the foodservice industry by the manufacturer in 1999 with the aim of reaching a “Shelving for Life” goal, and is now used widely in the industry in walk-in refrigerators, freezers, dry storage and even front of house.
Due to the fact that its polypropylene shelf plates do not rust and contain technology which stops mould, fungus and bacteria from growing, the product has revolutionised shelving.
In the 20 years since it was launched, Camshelving has undergone many improvements, and Cambro has credited it with paving the way for an array of further products, such as “Drying Cradles and Racks, the Flex Station, Ultimate #10 Can Rack, and Ultimate Sheet Pan Rack.”
Brian P. Gill, an Equipment & Smallwares specialist at Five Guys spoke of the positive effect using Camshelving had had on the burger chain.
He said: “We’ve been using Cambro Camshelving for 5 years and we don’t deal with rusted shelving anymore – especially in a walk-in cooler. Replacing rusted shelving is a really big project for a store, and once Camshelving is installed, it does what it’s supposed to do.”
