Singer Equipment acquires foodservice equipment dealer EVI


Singer Equipment, the foodservice equipment and supplies distributor, has purchased Maryland-based contract company EVI.

EVI serves multi-unit restaurants and independent food groups and offers services in the greater Baltimore – DC market. It has approximately 40 employees in the region, including many account and project managers.

Fred Singer, president and chief executive officer at Pennsylvania-based Singer Equipment, said: “This acquisition gives our company increased resources and local presence in the growing Maryland, Washington DC, and Virginia markets.”

Tom and Dana Lawson, the founders of EVI, will continue to run the division for the company and will report to Singer.

Singer added: “EVI also has a strong reputation with national restaurant chains and we look forward to growing our presence in this important customer segment.”

The CEO aims to build the business and bring clients a more “complete solution”, both geographically and in terms of the services it offers. 

Singer said: “Everything we do is to become a more helpful and effective partner to your business – to make us more responsive to your needs and to create solutions to your evolving challenges.”

Singer Equipment currently has more than 500 employees and serves over 5,000 customers annually. It has eight three distribution centres and eight offices.
