Professional knife company goes for a bigger slice of the market

The manufacturer of Damasteel chef knives is planning to demonstrate the product’s strength, edge retention and corrosion resistance at the National Restaurant Show in May.

Damasteel manufacturers stainless Damascus patterned steel knives using gas-atomized PM technology and boasts ‘superior strength and durability’.

The professional chef knives will be on display during the exhibition in held from May 18-21 at McCormick Place, with the company showcasing the selection made by international master craftsman exclusively for the show.

The company will also host Damasteel Chef Invitational, an exclusive chef knife show with world class knife makers.

Seventeen master knife makers will make specially made kitchen knives of stainless patterned Damascus steel.

“The excitement of arranging this is to see the result of the work the most talented craftsmen making absolutely stunning chef knives out of our patterned steel. It’s also about letting two different worlds meet with the common interest of creating art with world class handcraft but also to feel the functionality and performance of the steel,” says Per Jarbelius, owner Damasteel.

There is also an opportunity to buy knives and some of the knives will be auctioned out.

The visitors also have the chance to win a knife made of stainless Damascus patterned steel when they nominate their favorite knives in five different categories: Best design, Best chef knife, Best cleaver, Best pairing, Best integral.
